Wi-Fi 6
AP One AX, AX Lite and AP Pro AX use the 802.11ax standard for higher capacity, lower latency and better performance in device-dense environments than the older 802.11ac models.
PoE Powered
Every AP One model runs on 802.3af or 802.3at PoE (PoE+ on the AP Pro AX) — no separate power run needed at the mounting point. Most models require a PoE switch port or injector, sold separately.
Captive Portals
The AP Pro AX supports customizable captive portals via InControl 2 — built for guest Wi-Fi, hospitality and visitor networks that need a branded sign-in page.

Access Points — Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a PoE injector or a PoE switch?
Yes, for most models. Every AP One model is PoE-powered (802.3af or 802.3at, PoE+ on the AP Pro AX), but the injector is sold separately on all six models — you’ll need either a PoE injector or a switch with PoE ports already available. Some models can alternatively run from a 12V DC adapter.
Which model do I need for outdoor or industrial installation?
Choose a Rugged model — the AP One Rugged (ruggedized metal enclosure, -4°–149°F) or the AP Pro AX (IP67 waterproof/dust-tight, plus PoE+ for longer cable runs). The other four AP One models are plenum-rated for indoor ceiling-void or wall installation only.
What's the difference between AP One AX and AP One AX Lite?
AX Lite is the entry-level Wi-Fi 6 model: 2×2 MIMO over a single Gigabit port. The standard AP One AX steps up to 4×4 MIMO and a 2.5G multi-gigabit port for higher throughput and device density — see the comparison table above for exact speeds.
Can these access points be managed centrally, across multiple sites?
Yes — every AP One model can be managed through Peplink InControl 2 (or directly via a Peplink Balance/MAX router), giving one dashboard for configuration, monitoring and firmware updates across every site.
